Akron City Council Commits $150,000 Over 3 Years For Partnership With Black Chamber By: Derek Kreider March 8, 2025 Standing up to demands by President Donald Trump for communities to cut off funding for initiatives that give minorities a hand up, the city of Akron this week made a $150,000 commitment to help the newly formed Black Chamber of Commerce-Summit County take flight. The Black Chamber will receive $50,000 per year from the city after Akron City Council voted unanimously Monday to supply the funds as part of a contractual partnership between the two entities. |
